Heli Charters Australia provides reliable, professional commercial services across Australia and the Pacific Rim with bases in Cairns, Weipa, Normanton and Horn Island.

With the largest fleet in North Queensland, we have the ability to supply helicopters from as small as the 2 seat Robinson R22 right through to the deluxe 7 seat AS350 Squirrel. Our fixed wing aircraft are Twin Commander 500s models which boast air-conditioning, comfortable seating for up to six passengers, great payload capability and cruise at 300 km/hr. We offer:

Aerial Work – long lining and slinging, power line inspection (maintenance and stringing), remote telecommunication installation, personnel/freight/equipment transfers, Bambi and Kibble bucket operation (concrete pouring).

Exploration – geo survey, remote locations support (helicopter and airplane), mining exploration, mapping (photographic and lidar).

Helicopter Pilot Training - Cairns Helicopter School is a member of the Aviation Safety Foundation Australia, where daily safety checks and pre-flight checks are mandatory for all of our aircraft. All phases of training are conducted to stringent CASA requirements and the safety standards conformed to are of the highest in the world.

A brand new Robinson R22 has enhanced the fleet of training helicopters and the School has expanded its facilities to incorporate two large hangars situated directly on the tarmac at the Cairns Airport – ideally located to maximise the diverse training areas in the region, ensuring experience gained in a variety of terrain from tropical coastline to 5000 foot mountains and outback savannah country.

U Fly: This exciting 30 minute training flight takes you over the Barron Gorge and the northern coastline and gives you the opportunity to take over the controls yourself under the supervision of a qualified instructor!
